W.G. Dairy Supply, Inc. is a leader in the dairy industry as a construction, installation, and service provider for dairy farm milking equipment in Ohio, western Pennsylvania, Eastern Indian, and Southern Michigan.
Reporting to the Installation Supervisor, the Installation/Service Technician (IST) role is a hands-on position requiring the individual to work as a team to install equipment under the supervision of the Installation Supervisor. We are looking for an individual who would be able to potentially learn and grow into the role of Installation Supervisor. The primary function of the IST is to “roll-up-the-sleeves” and work “hands-on” installing the equipment and doing the construction and fabrication necessary as instructed by the Installation Supervisor. Most of the IST’s time will be spent at the project client’s site performing the installation and construction of the project. There will be travel at times needed in this position.
Skills and Attributes:
Previous experience or demonstrate the ability to learn welding (specifically stainless steel tig and mig welding).
Good understanding of general electrical wiring and control wiring
Good organizational skills-Ability to document materials used
Plumbing a plus
Good mechanical aptitude
Refrigeration experience a plus
Demonstrate a passion for serving others
Possesses a positive, up-beat attitude
Strong work ethic, responsive to supervisor and customer’s needs and willing to be available when necessary
Ability to lead and train others
Willingness to learn
Installing/servicing milking parlor systems and components
Installing/servicing refrigeration components of new/used milk tanks and cooling systems.
Installing/servicing all components of new and remodeled milk harvesting equipment
Electrical wiring and installation for barns and farms
Plumbing installation and service for dairy operations
Installing/servicing components of feeding equipment, silo unloaders, automated calf feeders, fans, manure equipment, waterers, lights, etc.
